Darien Fire “Cleans Up” at Mamaroneck Village Fire Parade, Again!

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Darien Fire Department won numerous honors at the Village of Mamaroneck Fire Parade again this year. DFD won:

  • Best Appearing Engine - Out of State under 10 years old
  • Second-Best Appearing Ladder Truck - Out of State
  • Best Appearing Rescue Truck
  • Best Appearing Tanker Truck
  • Best Appearing Non-Regulation Uniform, Out of State

And, of course, the coveted “BEST OF EVERYTHING” award.

he Mamaroneck Village Fire Department holds an annual firefighter carnival and parade to which fire companies throughout the region are invited. Hilighting this event is a parade where firefighters and apparatus go on display for the public to view and to be judged for design, cleanliness, and organization.

The competition at this event can be fierce. It is an uncommon honor for a department to win this many awards at a single event. Darien FD has won “Best of Everything” at this parade for four of the past five years.
